On 27 April 2010, the Quantico-Potomac AFCEA Chapter hosted the first US Marine Corps IT Day. This event provided relevant and usable information for both active duty and industry IT professionals who support the Marine Corps. The event provided a full day of important information and allowed dialogue through question and answer periods following each presentation. Highlights included a senior operator’s view of IT on the battlefield along with discussion centering on how industry can interface with Marine Corps Systems Command.
The day began with a Continental Breakfast during registration, a keynote speaker-luncheon, and wrapped up with an industry mixer rounding out the day. The event provided a unique opportunity to engage with IT leaders of the Marine Corps and to further business associations with industry and government.
Thank you to all participants and sponsors. Your support of this event will help support scholarship opportunities of deserving men and women within Quantico and the surrounding area.
Attendees received a Signal Magazine insert entitled “Focus on USMC IT” that highlights USMC IT, which provides general point of contact information for all major USMC IT organizations.
