In conjunction with National Cyber Security Awareness Month, AFCEA Quantico-Potomac will host our 11th Annual Cyber Event on Thursday, October 12, 2023. The guest speaker will be Col Bryan Eovito, Commanding Officer of the Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group (MCCOG).

The venue will be the Cyber Bytes Foundation in the Quantico Corporate Center.

Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group

Colonel Eovito assumed duties as the Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group on June 30, 2023.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 1993 and commissioned through the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program at the University of South Carolina in May 2000.

His commands include: Company A, 7th Communication Battalion; Marine Corps Recruiting Station Jacksonville, Florida; and 9th Communication Battalion.

His staff assignments include: Information Systems Management Officer, 3d Marine Regiment; Marine Security Element Liaison Officer, Joint Special Operations Task Force – Philippines during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM – PHILIPPINES; S-6 Officer, First Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment; Defense Strategic Satellite Communications Manager, United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM); Branch Chief, USSTRATCOM Global NetOps Control Center during Operations BURNT FROST and BUCKSHOT YANKEE; Operations Officer, 7th Communication Battalion; J-3 Director, Afghan National Army Special Operations Advisory Group, Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM; Executive Officer, 7th Communication Battalion; Deputy AC/S G-5, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing; Military Assistant to the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer, Office of the Secretary of Defense; and Branch Head, Information Networks, Services, and Strategy, Information Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Division, Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps.

He holds a Master of Science in Systems Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master of Operational Studies from the School of Advanced Warfighting, a Master of Science in Government Information Leadership from the National Defense University’s College of Information and Cyberspace, and he is a 2023-2024 Seminar XXI Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

His personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (one oak leaf cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal (two gold stars), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three gold stars), and the Army Achievement Medal.
