At the Quantico-Potomac Chapter Committee Meeting on December 18, 2013, the Chapter presented a $10,000 check to the Wounded Warrior Cyber Combat Academy to sponsor a wounded warrior in their program.  The Academy is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization founded to provide training at no cost to wounded warriors to prepare them for a career in cyber security.  The students receive the training required to obtain numerous certifications that qualify them for positions in the DoD Information Assurance Workforce, as well as cyber security positions in both government and industry.  In the photo below, the Quantico-Potomac Chapter President, Steve Gaudreau, presents the scholarship check to Emer Zapanta, a participant in the program.  Mr. Sam Maroon, a Senior Technical Trainer with the State Department and a volunteer instructor with the Academy, is on Steve’s left.  Other personnel pictured are members of the Chapter Board.  If you want to know more about the Wounded Warrior Cyber Combat Academy, check out their web site at http://www.w2cca.org/home.html.
